JEAN BOWMAN 1925 - 2006 With deep sadness the family announces the sudden passing of our mother and grandmother, Jean Bowman on September 9, 2006. Mom died peacefully in the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 80 years. Mom's memory will be forever cherished by her four daughters and their families, Karen (Wes) Turner, Barb (Brian) Kitching, Val (Gordon) Turner , Christine (Mike) McKee and her precious grandchildren, Darren Turner, Scott (Stacy) Turner, Ryan (Stacie) Turner and Chelsey Turner, Jamie Griffith (Michael) and Brent Kitching, Carrie Kennedy (Phil), Kristin Turner (special friend Scott Verestiuk) and Kyle Turner and her youngest grandchildren, Riley and Kieran McKee. She also had two very special great-grandchildren, Clarke and Nicholas Turner. She will also be missed by her brother Neil McEachran; sisters, Ruth Mitchell and Florence Melynk (Bill); sisters-in-law, Ann Bowman, Dorothy McEachran and Evelyn Shaw as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John Bowman; her parents John and Edith McEachran; one brother Harvey McEachran; brothers-in-law, Alan Mitchell and Bruce Bowman; sister-in-law Mary O'Connor. Jean was born at Rathwell on September 27, 1925. She worked in Winnipeg before marrying Jack Bowman in 1947. Together they farmed until Jack's passing in 1986. When the Villa opened in 1995, Jean moved into Treherne where she continued to be very active in the community life. Jean was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend and worked extremely hard to help her family. She enjoyed garden work, baking, quilt making and all her times spent with her grandchildren. The service to celebrate Jean's life will be held at the Treherne United Church at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 12. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's memory to the Tiger Hills Community Foundation Inc., Box 342, Treherne, Manitoba, R0G 0V0 or the Tiger Mountain Pool, Box 56, Treherne, Manitoba, R0G 2V0.
