Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA CAMPBELL LYNDS MCLACHLAN Olga McLachlan of the Golden West Centennial Lodge, Winnipeg, MB, aged 102 years of age, passed away September 11, 2006. Born in Debert, NS, to Harvey and Frances Lynds, April 28, 1904, the fifth of six children, she came west with her parents and younger sister at the age of 16 to Beaver, MB, where her father was Canadian National Railway station agent. She learned telegraphy and helped her father in the station office. In 1924 she married Donald Gordon McLachlan, who owned a car and implement dealership and garage business in MacGregor, and there they made their home until 1950. During these years Mrs. McLachlan was active in the choir, W.A. and vestry of St. Paul's Anglican Church, the I.O.D.E. and British Israel Federation. She was blessed with a beautiful lyric soprano voice, singing solos in church, and at concerts for miles around and in 1937 won the Grade A soprano solo in the Manitoba Music Festival in Winnipeg. In 1950 Mr. and Mrs. McLachlan moved to Winnipeg. Mr. McLachlan predeceased his wife in 1967. In Winnipeg Mrs. McLachlan was an active member for many years in the choir and W.A. of St. Aidan's Anglican Church, the Guild of Health, the Church Army, a prayer group, the study of Bible prophecy and the Women's Musical Club. Olga McLachlan is survived by one daughter Enid (and Craig) Campbell, of Peoria, Illinois, ten grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her younger daughter, Mary Elizabeth (McLachlan) Folson Carey, February 11, 2005, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and three great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at St. Aidan's Anglican Church, corner of Kingsway Avenue and Campbell Street, Winnipeg, on Tuesday, September 19, at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Doctor Brett Cane and the Rev. Ken Turnbull will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery in the family plot. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Aidan's Anglican Church, Winnipeg, or St. Paul's Anglican Church, MacGregor, MB. The family wishes to thank all the home care girls and nurses and private care ladies who looked after Olga at the Westhaven and the staff of the Golden West Centennial Lodge.
