WILLIAM FREDERICK BIGGINS Peacefully, with his family at his side, Bill Biggins passed away on September 11, 2006 in Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, ON at the age of 76. Bill leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 50 years, Lorraine (Dietz) and daughters, Janet Brown (Craig) and Susan Simpson (Jim) and his granddaughters, Christina, Lisa and Lindsay. Bill was born in Elgin, MB where his family ran the Biggins Grocery and Confectionary Store. He moved to Winnipeg in 1948 where he worked at several jobs before beginning work at TCA (Air Canada) in 1951. He held a variety of management positions in Finance and enjoyed the relationships he developed in Winnipeg and around the world with his airline friends. He retired in 1988. Bill and Lorraine loved to travel and saw many parts of the world. Bill enjoyed cottage life and our family had many happy times at Wallace Lake and then later Sandy Lake in Ontario. He also enjoyed the game of curling, spending many years at Grain Exchange Curling Club where he was a past president. Full of life and with a great sense of humour, Bill was a favourite of all he met. Our family would like to express their sincere thanks to the health care professionals at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, most notably the Emergency and 3rd floor units. As well, a special thank you to Dr. Workman for his care and compassion. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation, 21 Sylvan St., Kenora, ON P9N 3W7. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at John Black United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy. on Friday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. You will always be in our hearts. We love you. You will be greatly missed. Brown Funeral Home Cremation Centre entrusted with arrangements.

Lorraine, I was saddened to read about Bill's passing. He was responsible for getting me on at Air Canada and I appreciated it my entire 16 years there. But I remember him most from all the fun times at the Grain Ex. when I was dating Don Creedon. You will all feel his loss tremendously. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I just wanted to let you know that I am grateful for the part he played in my life's path. May you gain strength from those wonderful memories from the last fifty years.
