Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILLY MARGARET HEWITT Lilly Margaret Peg Hewitt, 88, of Charlevoix, died September 11, 2006, at the Boulder Park Terrace Nursing Home in Charlevoix. Peg was born February 12, 1918, in the province of Manitoba, Canada, to Tony and Lena (Urbonowch) Pawlitski. She worked as a singer for stage bands and dancer in Winnipeg and Windsor, and performed in live radio broadcasts. She moved to Detroit in 1952, and on January 29, 1962, she married Robert E. The Rev. Bob Hewitt. They owned and operated a bar called Bob's Rustic Cabin in St. Helen. After moving to Charlevoix in 1974, Peg retired and Bob worked as the Charlevoix County Equalization Department appraiser. He died August 27, 1997. Peg's brother Stanley W. Pauls also preceded her in death in 1999. Peg is survived by her nephew, Ross Townend and his son Stephan of Milton Keynes, England; sister-in-law, Della May (Roger) Hewitt Premo; several nieces and nephews from the Saginaw area; friends, Kelly Warner, Mary Ann Beaumont, Sandra Allard, and the staff of Boulder Park Terrace. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlevoix County Humane Society in memory of her beloved dog, Rady. Private burial will take place in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. There will be no local services. The Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix is handling the arrangements. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
