ERNIE BRAUN August 24, 1938 - September 13, 2006 Peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, with family by his side, Ernie passed away at the Morris General Hospital. Ernie is survived by his wife Linda (Rainkie); his son Gordon and wife Cindy (Phelan) and their sons Nick and Alex; his daughter Sandra and husband Brent Morrison and their son Nathan; their mother Marilyn Born; his mother Helen Braun of Morris; his brothers and sisters and their families, Nick and Janet Braun, Helen and Pete Friesen, Harry and Susanne Braun, Elvera and Hal Nodsle, Ruth and Gordon Coates, Charlotte and Mark Burch and Leona and Leonard Gerbrandt; brother-in-law Henry Engbrecht and sister-in-law Sharon Braun. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Lily Rainkie; his sisters-in-law and their families, Sylvia and John Palano, Leona and Dennis Beaumont and Arlene Rainke. He was predeceased by his father Nicholas Braun, twin sister Erna Engbrecht, brother Art Braun, father-in-law Tony Rainkie, brothers-in-law Ken Klassen and Garry Rainkie and nephew Darren Nodsle. Ernie was born and raised and lived his life in Morris. He farmed for a living, and when not farming he could be found in the coffee shop or in winter he loved to curl. The family wishes to extend its sincere heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at the Morris General Hospital, staff of G.D.6 - Health Sciences Centre and the staff at CancerCare Manitoba. The genuine kindness, gentle caring and compassion that Ernie received over these last months made a difficult time easier to bear. You are all proof that angels do walk among us. If friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the Morris General Hospital Palliative Care Program, or a charity of your choice. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16 at the Morris Fellowship Chapel.
