Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS LILLIAN DE ZOETE (nee LIVESEY) After a lengthy stay in hospital and subsequent release, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys on Tuesday, September 12, 2006. Mom was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario in 1944. It is there that she met and wed her husband of 42 years Adrian de Zoete before moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba where they enjoyed their life together and raised their family. Gladys loved travelling and creating crafts and most importantly caring for her family. In her later years mom became a very active member in various church groups and activities. Nothing seemed to slow her down, and it was with her strength, heart, and sense of humor that she touched all that were lucky enough to have known her. Remaining to forever cherish Gladys' memory are her loving husband Adrian; children, Richard de Zoete and Evelyn Galayda; grandchildren, Celina, Aaron, Megan and John; greatgrandchild, Mackenzie Ariana; sister Darlene Boyd; brothers, Ted (Judy) and Frank (Alvie); as well as sister-in-law Margaret Terry and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John Clifford and Gladys Evelyn; twin sister Glenda Turner and brothers-in-law, Don Turner, Alec Boyd and Lee Terry. A service celebrating Mom's life will be held on Friday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m in St. John's Presbyterian Church, 251 Bannerman Ave., with Rev. Kevin McDonald officiating. The family wishes to thank their friends, colleagues and members of the church for their prayers and support during the last couple of months. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mom's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
