Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREGINA OBERTH It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother and Oma on September 14, 2006 at Lion's Personal Care, 5 ½ months after celebrating her 100th Birthday. Mother was predeceased by her loving husband Carl in 1970. The memory of Regina will be forever remembered by her children, Regina Shute (Bill), Sara, Hilda McCormack (George) of Victoria, and Ron (Flip) of Toronto. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Janice (Doug), Kenneth (Barbara), Gordon (Karen), Joanne (René) of Quebec City and Gemma and Carli of Toronto, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Mother was born in Austria - Hungary March 28, 1906 and immigrated to Canada in 1929 with two young daughters to join her husband who had immigrated two years earlier to establish a home for them. Another daughter and son joined the family and they made Winnipeg their home. Mother and Dad spent many of their happier times at their summer cottage at Lake Brereton in the Whiteshell, with family, especially their grandchildren whom they cherished, as well as close friends and neighbours. Mother and Dad loved to entertain friends and visitors at the cottage, including many from Germany and the United States. Mother had been a resident of Lion's Personal Care since 2004, and Lion's Manor previous to that where she made many friends. We are thankful that Mother retained her remarkable clarity of mind, sense of humour and resilient spirit until her passing. We would like to thank all the staff at the Lion's Manor and Lion's Personal Care for all the wonderful care given to our Mother. A memorial bench commemorating Mother's 100th Birthday is situated at the Forth Whyte Center. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial service will be held Monday, September 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street 338-7111 Family and Friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at www.gleneden-mb.ca
