Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySAMUEL ROBERT FRANCIS (BOB) CAIN 1911 - 2006 It is with great sadness that the family announce the peaceful passing of Bob Cain of Treherne, MB on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the Brandon General Hospital, Brandon, MB at the age of 95 years, beloved husband of the late Dora Cain (nee Howe). Bob leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his loving memory, one son Albert (Diane) Cain, daughter-in-law Sharon Cain, grandchildren, Norman (Giselé) Clark, Ralph (Jocelyn) Clark, Brian (Annie) Clark, Jason Clark, Wayne Cain, Laurie (Patty) Cain, Gerald (Margot) Cathcart, Wanda (Bill) Johnson, great-grandchildren, Roseline, Robert and Jamie Clark, Benjamin Clark, Carson and Cassidy Cain, Hope Johnson, Logan and Wesley Cathcart. Bob is also survived by his sister Dora Hemming as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Dora Cain (nee Howe), son Joe Cain, daughter Rhoda (Boyd) Clark, parents, Robert and Mary Jane (Naylor) Cain, sisters, Martha (Bill) Palmer, sister in infancy Ethel, brother in infancy Frank. Bob was born on August 26, 1911, in the Treherne district. He spent his early years on the family farm in the Lady Smith District, while working for various farmers. Bob eventually began working at the Treherne Co-op delivering fuel and from this job he retired known as Gas Bob . Bob married Dora Howe in April, 1932. Bob and Dora raised three children, Rhoda, Joe and Albert on the Howe family farm in the Olive District. For a hobby he built a glass bottle house, Church and wishing well with the help of friends. Many people toured this site and many a senior's tour had their lunch under the trees. After the death of his wife Dora, Bob carried on with assistance having more tours. With help he still lived on the farm tending his yard plus a few flowers. Funeral services were held on September 9, 2006 from the Treherne United Church with Reverend Warren Marsh officiating. Interment took place at the Bethel Cemetery. Six of Bob's grandsons acted as pallbearers as per his wishes. The family would like to extend their thanks to all those who assisted Bob during the past few years. Special thanks to the medical team who treated his burns at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and the medical team at the Tiger Hills Health Centre in Treherne for their care these past few months.. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Bob's memory to Tiger Hills Community Foundation Inc., Box 342, Treherne, MB R0G 2V0 or to the Tiger Hills Health Centre, Handi-Van Fund, Treherne, MB R0G 2V0.
