NINA NIKITIN Peacefully on September 15, 2006 Nina passed away at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 81. Nina is survived by her loving husband Eugene of Winnipeg; sister Maria and nephew Eugene of Moscow; sister Antonina and niece Helen in Ukraine. Nina was born in Sevsk, Russia where she received her primary schooling. Her early years in Soviet Union were not easy ones having lost her father when young and later working in Germany under war conditions. After the war she immigrated to England and a couple of years later to Canada. In Winnipeg she met her future husband, Eugene. They were married in 1957. Together they enjoyed various hobbies such as outdoor sports and especially music. With her guitarist husband they took part in many musical activities. While living in Regina where her husband was temporarily transferred she was a member of Regina Conservatory choir and also in a successful ladies quartet called Symphonettes . In Winnipeg almost right to the end she sang at Russian Orthodox Church choir. Along with her husband she was a member of Winnipeg Classical Guitar Society. Prayers will be said on Monday, September 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection, 732 Alfred Ave. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, September 19 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Rev. Fr. Raphael Vereshack as officiant. Interment to follow in Brookside. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
