LAWRENCE DOYLE Lawrence (Larry) John Doyle C.D. Retired May 19, 1938 to September 16, 2006 Peacefully on Saturday morning, September 16, Larry passed away at the Grace Hospital with his loving wife and family by his side after a brief two-week battle with cancer. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 47 years, Evelyn; daughter Heather (Mario Potenza), their children Cassandra and Selano; daughter Linda Brown (Ernie), their children Carl, Marida and Collin; and son Steve (Cheryl) and their children Ryan and Jaymee. He treasured each one. Also left to mourn are his brothers Leo (Kay) and Harvey as well as numerous other family members. Larry was born in Hiltop (Clanwilliam), MB and raised in Brandon. He served his country for 32 years as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and 5 years with the Air Reserves. His career took him from coast to coast where he earned the respect of all who knew him. He enjoyed a long and rewarding retirement that spanned over 13 years. Larry enjoyed an active lifestyle and was a leader in his chosen sports. He will be missed by his extended family with the Charleswood Senior's Slow Pitch club where he served as treasurer for the past 5 years. Also an avid bowler and Captain of many teams where he was loved by all. Larry received many awards for his participation and skill. Larry loved to travel the world with his ever-loving wife Evelyn. Although his traveling days are over, he will travel with us in our hearts forever. A celebration of Larry's life will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing ½ hour prior to service at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
