RETA IRENE ELFORD Peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2006, at The Poseidon Care Centre, Reta passed into the arms of Jesus. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda, (Brian Timlick), Lynne (Andy Gilkes), Alice (Barry Magnussun), Elizabeth Matte, Russell, Tom ( Susan ) and twelve grandchildren, Charles, Maurice, Patricia, Steven, Daniel, Sandra, Michelle, Jamie, Patrick, Jennifer, James, Eric, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Penny in 1957, great grandson Dallas in 1989, and husband Joseph in 1994. Reta was born in Sydney, Manitoba on May 25, 1924. She was a kind and gentle person who never liked to offend anyone. She loved family parties, Christmas, and getting dressed up. We all enjoyed her infectious laugh, her wonderful sense of humour and her sweet nature. We appreciated her determination to survive her many medical problems. We are proud of our beautiful mom, grandma, and great grandma, and we will miss her very much. Viewing Monday September 18, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 19, at 10:30 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Cremation will follow. The family extends many thanks to the wonderful staff of Poseidon Care Centre who cared for our mom with sensitivity, compassion and dedication.
