EVELYN MARGARET HAMILTON SMITH (nee EVANS) 1907-2006 Evelyn passed away peacefully on September 16, 2006 at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. A loving, caring mother and grandmother and a kind, considerate person, Evelyn was happily married to William Westwood Smith for sixty-six years. She is survived by her children, Donald (Carolyn), David (Sandy) and Nancy Hodgson (Brian); eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Born in Winnipeg and a graduate of the University of Manitoba (B Arts '27), she was active in St. Andrews United Church, the University Women's Club (President 1963), the McKinnon Guild and the Canadian Association of Consumers (Board member). An avid curler (Winnipeg Winter Club) she also enjoyed travelling, bridge, golf and walking. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses on D4 of the Health Sciences Centre and the second floor staff of Misericordia Place for their compassionate care of our mother. A private service will be held for the immediate family. The family invites you to a reception at the Hodgson home between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22.
