Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRODNEY STEVENS Rodney Stevens, born in Winnipeg, MB on April 2, 1914, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2006 in Winnipeg. Rodney was predeceased by his wife, Irene, on April 14, 2004, his eldest daughter Lorraine Westover (Beckwith), three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his daughter Patricia (Jack) Brown, his brother Brownie Stevens and his sister Stella Baspally, all of Winnipeg. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Sheldon Beckwith, Darlene Brown, Robert Brown, Melville Brown and Douglas Brown; his fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rodney became ill with Parkinson's disease in 1974. His illness forced him to retire from Great West Metal where he was employed as the plant superintendent, having worked for that company since 1937. In 1999 he moved to the Fred Douglas Residence where he lived until his death. In accordance with Rodney's wishes, no service will be held. He requested that, in lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, friends place a donation with a charity of their choice if they so desire. The members of Rodney's family wish to express their gratitude to the staff of the Fred Douglas Residence for their kindness and care which, according to one of his great-granddaughters, made Rodney the happiest man in the world .
