EMMANUEL BIEDLER Emmanuel Biedler of Winnipeg, MB, passed away at the Riverview Health Centre on Sunday, September 17, 2006. He was born in Friedensfeld, MB to Wilhelm and Huldina Biedler on August 9, 1922. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Dorothea Caughy. Manuel is survived by his sister Adeline Braun, his brother Wilfred (Elsie), his nieces Corliss Van Caeseele (Larry), Alona Douglas (Ross), Cheryl Nuttall (Robert), Marlene Szarka (George), his nephews Randy McLeod, Grant Braun (Murielle), special cousin Gracie Biedler and his step-children Alma and Fraser. As a young man, Manuel farmed at Brokenhead, MB. During the winters, he worked as a strip boss cutting pulpwood for Abitibi. Later he sold his farm and moved to Kelowna, B.C. where he worked as a contractor and spent many years. He retired back to Manitoba. Special thanks to Alona, Randy and Ashlee Douglas, his main caregivers in his final years. Thanks also to his home care coordinators Diane Sewell and Sharon Tremblay and to the E3 staff of Riverview Health Centre. Funeral service will be held at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour on Thursday, September 21 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ed Mitchler officiating. Friends may view prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Zion Lutheran cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre.
