ERNEST (ERNIE) JOHN ENNS On Thursday, September 14, 2006, Ernest John Enns (Ernie) of Winnipeg passed away at the age of 86. He is survived by Irene, his loving wife of 62 years; children Noreen (Dzemal Gafic), Paul (Clara Mitchel Enns), Richard (Barbara Snidal), Christine (Stephen English); grandchildren Sashira, Laura, David; and by his siblings Siegfried (Vera), Selma (Peter), John (Martha), Harry (Eleanore) and Henry (Marie). Ernie was predeceased by his parents Reverend Johann and Agatha (nee Unruh) Enns, and sisters Johanna and Marlies and brother-in-law Horst Friesen. Ernie's passions included romance, church life, choral music, symphony, opera, theatre, civic governance, his family and travel. He truly encompassed his family credo Denk wer du bist . His family is very grateful for the caring and concern Ernie received at the Health Sciences Centre A4 Medical Ward. A Memorial Service in celebration of Ernie's life will be held Wednesday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg, with Reverend Franz Wiebe officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC Canada) 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 5K9, or the Mennonite Benevolent Society - Ukraine Ministry, 1045 Concordia Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2K 3S7, will be gratefully appreciated.
