JOHANN BAUER It is with deepest sorrow that the family of John Bauer announces his passing on September 16, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife Lorraine; sons Todd (Monica) and Troy and grandchildren Tyrenn and Meika. John was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Maria Bauer and his older brother Joseph Bauer all of Austria. John moved to Canada in 1962 at the age of 18. One of John's greatest passions was that of the outdoors, spending many years at the lake fishing and sitting around the campfire with family and friends sharing stories about his fishing and hunting ventures. Another was his love for his grandchildren. John could be seen at the various arenas and soccer fields around the city night after night watching and cheering on his grandchildren. Opa rarely missed a game or practice. John was also very proud of his two sons who worked along side of him in their family business for many years. A private family service was held on September 19, 2006. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Concordia Oncology for all their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB., R3E 0V9 or to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main St. 338-7111
