Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN WILSON Eileen Wilson, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at her home on September 17, 2006. She is survived by her daughters and their families, Heather Wood (Ted, Jeffrey, Michelle and Samantha), Cheryl Richter (Chris, Courtney and Adam) and by her brother Ed Connery (Bev) and his family. Mom was a loving and giving person whose life was devoted to her family and to educating children. She was born to James and Dorothy Connery on August 12, 1929 and lived her whole life in St. Vital. She had a happy childhood and was drawn to a career in teaching. Mom was a teacher, resource teacher and school principal, starting in a one room school. She then taught several years in Winnipeg and for many years in the St. Vital School Division. When Mom retired at 60, she had bettered the lives of many, especially her beloved students. After retirement, Mom spent several years working as a tour guide for Grey Goose Bus Lines. She loved her travels and met many interesting people. She stopped only as a result of ill health. Mom developed many close friendships over the years and travelled with a special group of friends near and far. She felt blessed by her friends and they shared love, support and courage in the good times and the bad. Mom faced many serious health problems as she aged. Though constantly beset with pain, Mom carried on with little complaint. She still travelled a little in the last few years, her last trip being to the Okanagan Valley to celebrate Aunt Margaret's 100th birthday. No matter what she was doing, Mom's greatest joy was her family. She spent happy hours with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild and eagerly anticipated the birth of her newest great grandchild. We will miss her and though we regret the loss of expected time with Mom, we are happy she is at peace and at home with God and her parents, family members and friends. A service to honour Mom's memory will be held Friday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Meadowood United Church, 1111 Dakota St. Our thanks to her friends and to family for their comfort and to the staff of Dakota House for their caring service to Mom and to us. Goodbye Mom. We love you and miss you. Rest in peace. Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway - 783-7211
