Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAN LEDOCHOWSKI May 23, 1933 - September 17, 2006 Peacefully, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dan Ledochowski. Dan passed away on September 17, 2006 at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital with his niece Roxane at his side. Dan was born at the family homestead in the Wheathill District on May 23, 1933, son of the late Fred and Anna Leduchowski. Left to cherish his memory are siblings Kay Petrick, Kost Ken , George and Gloria; brother-in-law John Petrick; sisters-in-law Helen, Myrtle and Laura. Uncle Dan was an inspirational role model to his nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and special neighbours, Paul and Sharon Humeny. Dan was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Anna; brothers John, Harry, Mike, Steve, Alex, Joe, Paul and sister Mary; brother-in-law Mike Martynuik; sister-in-law Hattie and nephews Clayton and Gary Petrick. From an early age Dan worked for Fred Babiak Construction, Manitoba Hydro, Fraser Construction in Bird's Hill and as a gravel checker for Manitoba Highways Dept. along with helping at the family farm. Dan took over the farm in 1966 and continued his passion for farming until the present time. Dan looked forward to 2007 as the family farm would celebrate it's 100th Anniversary. Dan's life revolved around his farm especially the cattle. His admiration for outdoor life included hunting, watching wildlife and talking about farming heritage. He enjoyed playing and watching baseball and was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame as member of the 1952-1959 Chatfield Cardinals. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chatfield Community Hall with Father Peter Chorney officiating. The family wishes to thank Dr. Loudon, Dr. Graham and the nursing staff at Teulon Hospital for their excellent care and kind compassionate ways. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital, Chatfield Community Hall or Charity of one's choice.
