TOMMASO FERRARO May 20, 1940 - September 19, 2006 Tommaso has joined his brother Giuseppe, sister Savarina and father Beniamino in Heaven. Surrounded by family who loved him dearly, Tommaso passed peacefully on September 19 in the arms of his beloved wife of 42 years, Elvira; his children, Ben, Maria Pina, Nicole, Jason and his grandchildren, Thomas and Maya. He will be deeply missed by his mother Maria, aunt Maria, brother Rosario, brother and sisters-in-law and the many nieces and nephews that cherish his memory. Tommaso, a mason by trade, built as many relationships as he did buildings and holds more strength than the bricks and mortar he used. He will be missed by many but especially by the family which he held so dear. Tommaso was a man of few words. But the ones he did say meant the same as thousands. He never had a bad word for anyone. He was a man of strong character, who never complained, even during his greatest struggle. A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses that helped him through this, especially at the St. Boniface Palliative Care that helped him live out his last few days with dignity and grace. Prayers will be held on Thursday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, September 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish on 510 River Ave. with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be given to CancerCare Manitoba, 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
