AGNES HUME AINSLIE DICK December 12, 1918 September 19, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a wonderful person. Our mother was born in Jedburgh, Scotland. She was orphaned early and was raised by a loving aunt and uncle. During the Second World War, she was a spotter for enemy planes one of her pictures is of that time. The second was taken at Concordia Village where she recently enjoyed living and relating with the wonderful residents and staff at that facility. Special thanks to Kathleen, Nick, Aleck and Lyle for befriending her. Mom came to Canada as a War Bride. She was married to our dad, Allan Dick, who was one of the first hundred Canadian soldiers to sign up for the war even though he too was an orphan from Scotland. Canada was a strange experience, but Mom had what it took to make it a success! Mom felt great sadness when she was predeceased by her husband, Allan McGregor Dick (January 1, 1996); her son Cameron Allen McGregor Dick (April 25, 1996); and very recently, her daughter Christine Mary Roberts Thompson (April 7, 2006). She leaves behind to mourn her passing and cherish her memory: her daughter Carolyn Lintott; her son-in-law James Lintott; her son-in-law Edwin Thompson; her grandchildren: Lana McNamara, Tara Thompson, Chanessa Dick, Christian Dick, Charraine Semenuck, and Cameron Dick; and her great grandchildren: Grace McNamara, Torie McNamara, and Deidre McNamara. She will also be missed by her relatives in England, Aunt Fronnie, Aunt Susan, Cousins Liz and Ian and their families. Agnes Hume Ainslie Dick was a wonderful person, wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, friend and role model. She had incredible strength, intelligence, compassion and caring. And she had an absolutely wonderful sense of humour admired and appreciated by all who knew her! My sister Christine called her a Grand Lady and so she was! We are indebted to her for all she gave us! Mom, we loved you as much, or more, than you loved us! Everyone who knew her will miss her. Her passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts! Special thanks to her doctor, Marilyn Singer, and to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Concordia Hospital. The family sincerely appreciates the caring and concern you showed in such a difficult time. Those wishing to make donations may make them to the Cancer Society (193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3C 9Z9) in memory of her beloved daughter Christine Thompson mom would like that!! Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, at Klassen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Arrangements in care of: KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson - North of McIvor - 338-0331 Help us support Winnipeg Harvest by bringing a Tin for the Bin www.klassenfuneralhome.com
