YVONNE EUGENIE DELVENNE Surrounded by her loving family, our beloved mother, matriarch of five generations, passed away at the age of 93 years. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Mercedes (Gary) Smith; grandchildren, Todd, Derek, Craig, Warren, Sheliza, Shireen, Charmaine, Roger, Calvin, Randy, Angie; many great-grandchildren and family in Europe. Born October 22, 1912 in France, Yvonne and her siblings, left for Canada two days before the start of the First World War. She was educated by the Jesuits, to whom she gave much credit for her love of learning. Yvonne loved horseback riding, piano, antiques, and was an avid reader. She had a profound love of family, friends, and animals. Her presence and sage counsel will be deeply missed. A private family service was held at Chapel Lawn, where Yvonne was laid to rest beside her beloved husband, in close proximity to other cherished family. A special thank you to the staff of the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their kindness and compassion. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, a donation may be made to a charity of choice.
