ANASTASIA (NETTIE) SOPKO With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing on September 21, 2006, of Anastasia Nettie Sopko, our mother, our Baba, our great-Baba. Mom was born on June 6, 1918. She was predeceased by our father Stanley, and her son-in-law Carlos. Nettie leaves to celebrate her life: her daughter Mary Ann; her son Jerry; and daughter-in-law Nicole; her grandchildren, Carlos (Doreen) deVillalvilla, MaryAnn (Chris) Dube, Dylan, Stacia, Danielle, and Katrina; and her great-grandchildren, Elisabeth, Taylor, and Jacob. Throughout her life family was the center of Baba's world, she showered her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her never-ending love and faith in them. Baba believed there was no problem that could not be made better with love and support of family. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with viewing starting at 1:30 p.m. with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok officiating. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who would like to honour her memory with a charitable gift are invited to make a contribution to Save the Children Canada.
