SUSAN BRAUN (nee REIMER) Widow of the late Johan F. Braun Born June 8, 1921 near Altona, MB - Died September 20, 2006 at Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Susan was predeceased by one son Jacob in infancy; and her husband John in 1981. She is survived by three daughters and eight sons and their families: Elsie (Don) Klippenstein, Darryl and Trevor; Alfred Braun, Andrew and Jennifer; Ed Braun; Martha (Richard) Belcourt, Chris and Kathy Belcourt, Melanie and Shawn Robinson with Brendan and Kyle, Warren; Erwin (Barb) Braun, Sara and Ryan; Arthur (Cindy) Braun, Amanda; Ernest Braun, Michael; Richard Braun; Frieda (Kevin) Braun Stark, Adam; Victor Braun, (Jaquie with daughter Courtney); Rudy (Shiela) Braun, Aaron and Ben. As a child, Susan immigrated with her family to Paraguay, South America, where she grew up and spent about half her life. In 1965 she and her husband, with 10 children moved back to Canada, settling in Winnipeg, where she lived the rest of her life. After her retirement she had time to volunteer and to be more active in her church, which she enjoyed very much. She also did some travelling: in 1987 to Paraguay to visit siblings and other relatives, to Florida for a week with her daughter and son-in-law, to Toronto with her daughter to visit a son and his family. She also went on her own to the West coast and to Toronto, but was always happy to come back home. She was ill the last two years, but with the dedication of her son Ed and daughter Martha to see to her needs (and in the last few months some wonderful home care staff) she lived in her home until she went to the hospital about a month ago. Funeral services will be held at Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church (Sargent and Garfield) on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow in the Springstein Cemetery. Donations may be made in Susan's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or to Mennonite Central Committee. FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 2146 Main Street 339-5555
