JAMES GORDON LADOSKI (JIM) February 18, 1932 September 18, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Jim Ladoski, our dear husband, father, and grandfather on Monday, September 18, 2006. This tragic loss is felt by his loving wife Trygvine; and his adoring children, Eric (Anika), Wendy (Wolfgang), Colin, and Heather (Michael); and grandchildren: Tiffany, Michael, Kristen, and Ava. He will also be sadly missed by cousins, Jim (Mary) and Lawrence (Lillian) Romaniuk, Lorraine (Terry) Hercus, and Eleanor (Bill) Kullberg, (Georgie Romaniuk); as well as by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Kris Oleson (Joanne), Maurice Oleson, Dennis Oleson (Nutke), Brian Oleson (Joanne), Marj Oleson, Fred Oleson, nieces and nephews and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Olive in 2003, and James in 2001, and by his daughter Tina in 1961. Jim was born in Winnipeg on February 18, 1932. He spent his early childhood years in Winnipeg, Bisset and Riverton, where he attended elementary school prior to moving to Vancouver, BC. In Vancouver, he attended junior and high school at Britannia School, while helping his parents manage their general store. He had a beautiful voice which earned him leading roles in several musicals. He returned to Manitoba to complete Senior Matriculation. This is when he met Trygvine, the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, whom he later married following their teacher training. He subsequently permit taught in a one-room rural school at Homer before attending the Provincial Normal School from 1951 to 1953. He taught in rural Manitoba, in Arnes and Tyndall, for two years. In 1955, Jim and his family moved to East Kildonan, and later to North Kildonan, where he continued to excel at teaching with the River East School Division for 34 years. He taught at Polson and Melrose Junior High Schools. He then became Vice-Principal at Angus McKay Elementary School where he spent seven years, and later moved to Lord Wolseley Elementary as Vice-Principal and Principal. His next move was to Springfield Heights School, where he spent 20 years, and enjoyed teaching all subjects and specialties, with a particular love for teaching Grammar. During this time, he attended U of M to complete his B.A. and B.Ed. He retired in 1989 at the age of 57, and enjoyed retirement and the opportunity to spend time travelling and being with his wife and family. We enjoyed frequent trips to Riverton to visit relatives, and to the lake at Beaver Creek, Grand Beach, and Gimli. Jim and Trygvine shared their love of children, teaching, nature, and the lakeside. He adored her and they were inseparable, always doing things together. They raised their five children, Eric, Wendy, Tina, Colin, and Heather with the love of family, and have always taken great pride in their achievements. All of his grandchildren had a special place in his heart. Tiffany, Michael, and Kristen were a constant source of enjoyment. He was excited about his very recent grandchild Ava, the newest addition to the family. Jim will always be remembered for his tremendously kind, gentle, caring nature and for his dedication to his family. He held high ideals of harmony, peace, justice and equality and lived his life upholding these values. He encouraged everyone to be fair in all they do, and to get along. He always gave valuable advice when it was needed, and was never intrusive. His wisdom and wise counsel will always be missed. It is hard to describe to others what a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and son he was. There was never any task too great or too small for him to lend a hand with. Nothing was ever an imposition, he was only too happy to help out at any time. He was a man of enduring faith in God, and loved to serve the Lord, both at the church, and in his family life. Jim was very involved in starting the Lutheran mission congregation in North Kildonan, that of Peace Lutheran Church. He was one of the founding members, being actively involved in the Building Committee and serving a term as Executive Director. We will always love you, we will miss you terribly, and we are so very grateful to have had you in our lives. God bless! See you soon Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 25, at Peace Lutheran Church, 350 Gilmore Ave., at 1:00 p.m. Should friends so desire, memorials may be directed towards Peace Lutheran Church, 350 Gilmore Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2G 2B7.
