DONALD ARMAND BANKS September 18, 1935 September 21, 2006 Three days after his 71st birthday, Donald passed away very suddenly at HSC. He was my husband for 28 years, my best friend for 31 years. He was predeceased by his mom and dad Armand and Grace Banks; his sister Elaine Mann all of St. Catharines, ON. He will be sadly missed by his son Armand Robert Banks (Brieanne); his stepdaughter Susan Lorraine Fox, her children, Stephanie and Alicia; our grandchildren; his sister-in-law Margaret Richmond and family. Don has his Aunt Betty; his brother Gary (Shirley) and family; cousins, Judy (Larry), Wendy (Dan), their families, all of St. Catharines to mourn his memory. His friends, Greta (Brian) Speilmacher, Larry (Margie) Baines, all of St.Catharines. His new friends, Brian and Shirl Akins of Winnipeg, and many more relatives and friends that will miss him dearly. Don was born and got his schooling in St. Catharines, ON. He went to Ryerson Institute of Technology and got his degree in Architecture. He made a career of designing Laboratories for many hospitals, universities and industry across Canada. He took great pride in his work and gave it his all. In his retirement years, we loved to cruise and were about to set sail on Monday for our 7th, to see the pyramids. It was to be our last for a while because we had cruised pretty much around the world. During these cruises we met some special friends in Australia and had visited them. Wherever, he went he made a lot of friends to last. He was always there to give us a laugh, advice or encouragement. Susan thanked him for all the things he taught her and all his support. He got to see his son graduate from Lakehead University, which made his extremely proud. He loved to fish and restored an old wooden century boat. He loved to sketch in his retirement. How do you put down in a few words someone's life accomplishments with the feeling he lived them, I can't, his loving wife, Charlotte. A memorial service will be on Monday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing an hour before in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillvray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his memory.
