GORDON B. MARTIN August 12, 1920 - September 23, 2006 Gordon B. Martin died peacefully September 23, 2006 at the St. Boniface Hospital. He is survived by his wife Mary (married 63 years) and three sons, John (Gail), Pat (Nancy), and Rick (Debbie); brother Russ, and sister Kay of BC. Gordon is survived by four grandchildren Kylie, Ryleigh, Jason and Liana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Wentworth and mother Ida (Coates), brothers, Eric and Raymond. Gordon was born in Chase, BC on August 12, 1920 but lived most of his life in Manitoba and the last 54 years in the family home in St. Vital. He had a long career with the Federal Government and was very proud of his R.C.M.P. and military time. As an Excise Officer in Winnipeg, he made many friends at the breweries where he had his responsibilities. His interests included hunting and fishing with his many friends, particularly with the Hansen gang at Lake of the Woods. He started the family cottage at West Hawk Lake in 1960 and it remains with the family today. Cremation has taken place. Following his wishes, a private service will be held. The family wishes to thank the wonderful medical staff at Riverview Health Centre, CancerCare MB, and especially B-4 of St. Boniface Hospital.
