Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLAF JORHEIM On September 22, 2006 Olaf Oliver Jorheim passed away at Foot Hills General Hospital in Calgary, AB. Ole was born in Lear Norway, March 24, 1918. He immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1919. He leaves to mourn his passing, brothers, Bill (Verna) of St. Andrews, MB, Norman (Ingrid) of Selkirk, MB; sisters, Lilly McCarthy, Irene Olson, Marjorie Fox, Alice (Roy) Plumptre, Alma (Herman) Olsen of Teulon, MB, Violet (Gerry) Barker of Vancouver, BC; sister-in-law Freida Jorheim of Inwood, MB and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, mother, brothers, Ed, Clarence, Bert, sister Betty. Ole left home at an early age to work on a dairy farm in Alberta. He enlisted in the Canadian army with the Royal Edmonton Regiment in 1940. He was stationed in England and north western Europe. He returned to Canada in 1946. After the war he worked in Calgary as a drag-line operator. He moved to Mapel Ridge, BC and bought a bowling alley with his brother Clarence. He retired and moved back to Calgary, AB. He was presently living as a resident at Colonel Belcher Personal Care Home. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff and care givers at Colonel Belcher for the excellent care and kindness given to Ole. At Ole's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Inwood, MB on Saturday, September 30 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Claire Speary will officiate. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
