WALTER REGEHR May 6, 1923 - September 27, 2006 Peacefully on September 27, 2006 at his home, at the age of 83, Walter Regehr passed away. Walter was born in Schonhorst, West Prussia on May 6, 1923. In the spring of 1951, Walter came to Canada where he married Marianne Wiebe in Coldale, AB on August 10, 1952. They resided in Winnipeg and raised their four children. Walter together with his partner George Bock, successfully started and grew their business, Bock Regehr Construction and Woodland Supply for over 40 years. Walter had a passion for life. This was evident in his every day life. He showed it in his love of photography, his love of flowers, especially orchids, his love of dancing, his love of cottaging at Lester Beach, and mostly in his love for his family. Walter strove for excellence in all that he did. Walter loved to build, not only homes, which he loved to do, but also people. He could always see beyond, to the potential that was there, in family, friends, employees, or anyone he came in contact with that shared his interests. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Marianne; daughter Karin and husband Bill Thiessen, Erika and Josh, Sarah; daughter Susanne and husband Peter Krahn, Michael, Angela and Gilles, and great-grandson David; son Bernie and wife Ingrid Froese, Leah, Steven, and Shawn; and son Ralph and wife Janice Regehr, Katrina, Zachariah and Bethany; brothers, Lothar and Ruth Regehr, Kurt and Irmgard Regehr; and sister Christel Bottger. Walter will also be missed and remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. His Celebration of Life service will be held at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Ave. on Saturday, September 30, at 11:00 am with Rev. F. Wiebe officiating. Cremation has taken place with private interment. The family wishes to thank the wonderful home care staff of the Interlake Regional Health Authority.
