C. GERALD J. DIONNE (GERRY) Gerry passed away suddenly, on September 26, 2006 in Iroquois, Ontario at the age of 59. He was predeceased by his father Armand (Mousse) Dionne and his mother Rolande Dionne. He is survived by his loving wife Susan, his daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Mike Wyllie, his son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Trudy Dionne, his brother Lynn Dionne, his sister Annette Gaetz, his grandchildren Malcolm, Hannah and Cole Wyllie and Charlie Dionne. He was born in Emerson, Manitoba where he grew up happily. He joined the R.C.M.P. in 1967 and from Training Division was transferred to Hope, BC where he met and married Susan Robinson, who was the love of his life. Together, they lived in many places in British Columbia and considered their life an adventure. In 1981, he was transferred to Ottawa Headquarters and the adventure continued. He retired from the force in 1994 and moved back to Emerson where he enthusiastically became a part of small-town life, doing odd jobs of all sorts, farming during harvest and joining the legion. He loved to wear his red serge and would march in parades and spend time at the Tourist Information Bureau on Canada Day. He was truly a great ambassador for the force. He was a very physically active person and an enthusiastic supporter of community sports. He coached his children in softball for many years. As well, he was a runner, cyclist, softball player and golfer. However, his very favourite sport was walleyball and he was playing volleyball on the night he died. He loved to spend his winters in Texas where his energies went into slowpitch and dancing the Texas two-step. He was a loving husband and a loyal friend. He loved life and lived it with gusto. He will be missed by all his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and faithful friends. Because of Gerry's commitment to community services, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Way of Canada at www.unitedway.ca. Funeral services will be held at St. Pie Church, Letellier, Manitoba on Wednesday, October, 4 at 1:00 p.m.
