GWENDOLIEN GAERWEN WILCOCK On September 27, 2006 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli, Gwen Wilcock beloved wife of Edward Wilcock passed away at the age of 85. Beside her loving husband of 64 years she is survived by her son Barry (Lynn); grandchildren, Craig (Tammy), Garnet, Nancy (Chris); sister Mona Sweeney; great-grandchildren, Coral, Sahara, Cain, and many nieces and nephews. Gwen enjoyed all sports and took an active part in baseball, curling, bowling and golf. She also worked for many years for the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion in Gimli. She was a life member and also served as president. Her love for baking and cooking was always enjoyed by family and friends. She always remembered the grandchildren's favourite Christmas treats. The family would like to thank the staff at Betel Home and Gimli Hospital for their care and commitment for Gwen. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, Winnipeg Beach, MB, with Rev. Ken Pawluk officiating. Cremation will follow and interment of ashes will take place at a later date in the St. James Cemetery, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Betel Foundation, Gimli or Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
