ANNA DUECK REIMER July 29, 1920 - September 27, 2006 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great-grandmother who passed away peacefully with loving family by her side on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Steinbach. She was 86 years of age. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Abram W. and Anna Dueck, sister Justina, brother Abram and brother Abram in infancy. She was also predeceased by her first husband Wilhelm U. Dueck in 1979 and her second husband David P. Reimer in 2004. She is survived by her children, John (Helen), Abe (Helen), Ann (Ed), Minna (Abe), Bill (Karen), Verna (Glen), Martha (Rod), Adeline (Eldon), Albert (Debbie), Leonard (Darlene) and 13 stepchildren. She was also a proud and loving grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Mom made a decision to walk with the Lord. She stayed steadfast in her faith. She was a prayer warrior for herself and her family. Mom devoted her love to her family and worked hard on the family farm alongside her husband. After her first husband passed away in 1979 she sold the farm and moved to Steinbach in 1983. She was alone for many years before she remarried in 1996. After the passing of her second husband, Mom's lengthy illness became a burden, almost too heavy for her to bear, but her strong faith and family's encouragement gave her the hope and strength she needed to finish her journey. She grew so weary and yearned to go home for so long. God finally sent an Angel to take her home. We live in confidence that God has welcomed her as one of His own. For those who wish to pay their respects, viewing will be held at Steinbach Funeral Home, 5 Chrysler Gate in Steinbach on Sunday, October 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with devotional following at 7:30 p.m. Her celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Ridgewood EMC church in Giroux with reception to follow. Mom will be laid to rest at the Rosengard Cemetery after the reception. Mom entered into Eternity September 27, 2006, 27 years after the passing of her first husband Wilhelm Dueck who died September 28, 1979. Her celebration of life is October 2, 2006 and his was October 3, 1979. The family would like to thank the wonderful homecare staff at Fernwood for loving and caring for our mother, Dr. Fournier, Dr. Duval, nurses, chaplains and staff at Ste. Anne's Hospital for their excellent care, compassion and support. The family would also like to thank Dr. Krahn, nurses, chaplains and staff at Rest Haven Nursing Home, where Mom resided at the time of her death, for their care, support and compassion.
