INGE MARTHA KECK (HEILMANN) (BACH)
Date of Passing: Sep 30, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryINGE MARTHA KECK (HEILMANN) (nee BACH) It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of our Mother and Oma, on Saturday, September 30, 2006. Inge will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Manfred Heilmann (Irene), grandsons Michael (Karen) and David and great-grandchildren Ashley and Adam. Also left to cherish her memory is her family in Germany: sisters Magda (Jochen), Angela (Hans), and Monika (Jurgen), aunt Martha, nieces and cousins as well as extended family here in Canada. Inge was predeceased by her husband Friedhelm Heilmann in 1969. Inge was born in Reimen, Germany and immigrated to Canada with her husband and infant son in 1953. She worked in the garment industry until her retirement. Inge was an amazing seamstress who made everything from the most delicate wedding veil to the most utilitarian winter parka. She tried her hand at numerous types of needlework and crafts and mastered most of them. After her retirement, Inge caught the travel bug and spent several months every year travelling the world. She visited such exotic destinations as Egypt, Turkey, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Singapore and Australia as well as travelling to Germany almost yearly to visit her family there. She will be remembered for always being willing to lend a helping hand or offer a piece of advice wherever it was needed. In recent years, she volunteered at the nursing home next door to her home and was sorely missed there when she became ill. Mom faced her brief but devastating illness with courage and the family would like to thank the caring staff of the Riverview Health Center Palliative Care Unit for helping her to pass her last days in comfort and with dignity. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheeler Funeral Chapel located at 211 Regent Ave. West. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 224-1525 Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends - but only one mother in the whole world.
