Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) ELLISON MCMEEKIN Robert Ellison McMeekin passed away at 87 years of age on September 30, 2006 at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg after a lengthy illness. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 63 years, Margret, son Robert (Bob) and his wife Sharon of Calgary, their sons Brad and Brian, and son James (Jamie) and wife Barb of Calgary and their children Andrew (Andy), Mark and Tegan. Bob was born in Winnipeg in 1918 and raised in Kenora, Ontario. He joined the RCAF in 1939 and served overseas as a bomber pilot during the war. On October 14, 1942 he married Margret. Upon his return to Canada, he attended the University of Manitoba and became a chartered accountant. He was a senior partner with Dunwoody Saul Smith from 1946 to 1968 and then became a partner/owner of Mumford Medland Limited until 1976 when he retired. Bob was very active in the community, having been a member of the Shriners, Masons, Kiwanis, Winnipeg Winter Club and the St. Charles Golf and Country Club. Bob enjoyed travelling with his wife Margret and they spent many happy times at their cottage on Lake of the Woods and in later years at Sun Lakes, Arizona. The family wishes to thank Dr. David Breckman, Dr. John Rabson and the staff of the Grace Hospital and the Tuxedo Villa for their kind and compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, entrance on Aubrey Street, on Wednesday, October 4, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6 or charity of your choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
