WILFRID SAVARD With sadness, we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather Wilfrid Savard on the morning of September 30, 2006. Wilfrid will be lovingly remembered by his wife Aurelie (nee Poiron) of 59 years; and his six children, Suzanne (Laurent) Rochon, Patricia (Rene) DeGagne, Gerard (Debbie), Raymond (Jeannine), Marcel and Gilles (Naomi); seven grandchildren, Brigitte, Janelle (Chris), Chantal, Dominique, Dustin (Christy), Breanne and Daniel. Also he leaves to mourn his passing his godson Jean Lambert; sister-in-law Irene Gagnon; brother-in-law Ferdinand Poiron; brother-in-law Denis Poiron (Jeannine); sisters-in-law, Gilberte Tourond (Adrien), Yvette Poiron and Madeleine Poiron/Lorteau. He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Philomene Savard; brothers, Adelard, Joseph; and sister Marguerite. In 1952 Wilfrid started his own business known as Packer's Auto Body Ltd. He owned and operated it for 32 years. He was well known in the automobile industry and greatly respected by his customers and fellow industry associates and staff. Wilfrid retired in 1984 and enjoyed travelling and doing wood crafts for his children and grandchildren. To our Dad/Pepere: We love you Dad. Your life has been a true example of courage and strength. To our Mom/Memere: We want to express our love and gratitude for your dedicated love, support and care throughout Dad's many years of sickness. It will never be forgotten. The family also wants to recognize and express heartfelt appreciation to family, friends, parish priests and the long list of dedicated doctors and nurses who supported his journey to a dignified end. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at St. Martyrs-Canadiens, Roman Catholic Church, 289 Dussault Avenue (off Cottonwood), Windsor Park. Viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Father Marcel Toupin and Father Jean-Louis Rocan will officiate. A private family interment after cremation will take place at a later date in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Arthritis Society (Manitoba Division) at 105 - 386 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
