Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMYRA PARRY It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Myra Parry on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Victoria Hospital with her loving family at her bedside. Myra was beloved wife of Stanley for 63 years, cherished mother of David (Jean) of Winnipeg and Susan Yezdani (Habib) of Brisbane, Australia. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren Kimberley, Sheldon, Leigh Anne, Anisa and Omer, her sister Rita Gerken of Liverpool, England and her longtime friends, Marjorie, Norma and Frances who she stayed in touch with over many years despite the long distances that separated them. Myra was born in Liverpool, England on October 9, 1920. Toni, as she was affectionately called, served as an ambulance driver for the Women's Auxiliary Air Force during the Blitz in London. Myra immigrated to Canada with her family in 1951 settling in Dartmouth, NS and later in Moncton, NB. Most of her life in Canada was spent in the Maritimes where she had a longtime love of sailing around Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. She also crewed on a sailboat to the Caribbean Islands. Myra was an avid curler, a great cook, a voracious reader and loved to sew and work in her garden. She loved to socialize and travel and get out and about. She had a very outgoing personality and easily made friends. Myra was a very compassionate and caring person who was always ready to lend a helping hand or take charge as the need required. She always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She eventually moved to Winnipeg to be close to her family leaving behind her many friendships and pastime loves. Myra wished to be remembered as she was at her best before her health declined. In accordance with her wish, no memorial service will be held. To honour her love of sea and sailing, her remains will ultimately be interred at a resting place near the Atlantic Ocean. Myra was the best mum in the world. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway - 783-7211
