MARGARET ELLEN ILKEW (nee GALAY) Peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at the Health Sciences Centre, Margaret passed away at the age of 77 years. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Ron and Dave (Jo Ann); daughter Peggy; grandchildren, Lesley (Ron, Brittany), Jonathan, Kyle (and their mother Veronica), Heather (Fraser), Jennifer, Rachelle (Dave); her sisters, Verna and Adeline (Ed); her brother Lloyd; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1998. Margaret enjoyed gardening, yard work, her trips to Rorketon to visit old friends and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. With great determination, she obtained her driver's license at the age of 64 years. Margaret was also the C.E.O. of Baba's Doggie Daycare Centre Prayers will be sung on Wednesday evening, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday morning, October 5 at 10:30 a.m. also in the Church, with Rev. Fr. Ernie Hafichuk officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. A special thanks to all the ICU staff of the Health Sciences Centre and to family and friends for all their support. Donations in Margaret's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
