MURPHY DOLA Peacefully, with his family by his side, Murphy passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on October 2, 2006. Murphy was born in Melnice, Manitoba on January 14, 1938. He was predeceased by his father Nick, mother Mary and sisters Anne and Alice. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret of 45 years, daughter Teddy and son-in-law Jim, daughter Dawn and son-in law Mark, son Jaret and daughter-in-law Lucia and grandsons Justin, Jeremy and David. Murphy was employed by People's Cooperative as a Milk Man in the Transcona area for 35 years and was also President of the Creamery Worker's Union. Murphy was an avid golfer and traveller. He spent his summers on the golf course in Sandy Hook with good friends Ray, Paddy and Doug and his winters on the golf course in Yuma, AZ. His greatest joy was travelling to visit his children and their families and his many friends in both the United States and Canada. Murphy had a generous heart and was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Services to celebrate Murphy's life will be held at Gilbart's Funeral Chapel at 50-1st Avenue in Gimli, MB on Saturday, October 7 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Williams Cemetery on Highway 8 at the Lake Winnipeg Beaches exit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics of Manitoba, 4th Floor, 200 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4M2 or the Gateway Foundation, Box 172, Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba R0C 3GO. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
