SYDNEY HENDIN Peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2006, Syd Hendin passed away at age 85. He leaves to remember him, Shirley (nee Gutkin) his adoring wife of 59 years, sons Marvin (Wendy) and Ken (Karen), grandchildren Hilary, Kimberly and Kyle, brother Donald (Gloria), sisters-in-law Bernice Hendin and Ruth Gutkin and many nieces and nephews. Syd was predeceased by his parents Louis and Ruth Hendin, in-laws Max and Celia Gutkin, sister Rita, brother David, brothers-in-law Jack and Daniel Gutkin and sister-in-law Dorothy Gutkin. Funeral Services were held on September 26, 2006 at the Chesed Shel Emes with cantor Gerry Daien officiating. Interment followed at the Shaarey Zedek cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Hendin, Howard Hendin, Terry Gutkin, Donald Gutkin, Earl Barish and Stephen Chapman. A private shiva was observed. Contributions may be made in Syd's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, The Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation, Gwen Secter Creative Living Centre or a charity of your choice. Flowers gratefully declined.
