Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWHILMA PAULINE COWLEY (nee MILLS) August 19, 1915 to October 3, 2006 It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of a very special and dear lady, Whilma Cowley. She was born in Winnipeg in 1915 and lived her very full life in this same city until her peaceful passing on Tuesday, October 3, 2006. Whilma was predeceased by her parents, George and Pollie Mills, her husband Leslie Cowley and brother-in-law Leonard Ellis. She is survived by her sister Phyllis Ellis and an extended family in England. During her life Whilma was employed by Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) for 32 years, and followed that with several years at B.M.W.E. Union until she retired. Whilma was a very talented musician and played either a piano or an organ at various church and community gatherings over many years of treasured memories. She was a longtime active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church where she served on the vestry and, for several years, voluntarily worked as the Treasurer for the Church. Funeral services for Whilma will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, corner of Donald Street and Graham Avenue, on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., where Father Henry and Father Ron will be officiating. Interment will occur at St. James Anglican Church cemetery following the services. Special thanks are given to the Pickford Family, the Connelly Family, adopted sister Doris, Anne, Emelia, Jim, Tom and the staff of the 7th floor at Beacon Hill Lodge.
