BRIAN DOUGLAS BARRETT Born November 17, 1949 Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, MB. He lost his battle October 3, 2006, Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg at 56 years of age. Brian spent the past year with terminal cancer. Brian was the third son of Clifford Barrett and Florence Fairhurst. He is survived by his father Clifford and Lois of Sherwood Park, AB and Florence Clairine of Winnipeg; 16 brothers and sisters; daughter Jennifer; son Owen; Uncle Rev. Wesley Barrett and many nieces and nephews. The family expresses their appreciation to his employer WRE Developments, the staff of Concordia emergency and the most caring nurse Susan on the 3rd floor. Without the special care prescribed by Lisa of Palliative Care, the tremendous suffering of Brian would not have ended so peacefully. He passed away at 8:15 p.m. in the most peaceful manner. At his bedside was his wife of many years, Debbie, his brother Gordon, his parents Clifford, Lois and Florence, his most devoted NIECE Sherry and his special pal Jerry. Brian passed slowly out of mortality with a gentle smile and a most reverent quiet last breath. A memorial service in remembrance of Brian will be held Saturday, October 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME, 220 Hespeler Ave. Family and friends are invited to a light lunch following the service. A special interment will take place Sunday, October 8 on the family farm in Fisher Branch.
