GRANT WILLIAM DRUMMOND On October 4, 2006 in Neepawa surrounded by his family, Grant passed away after a courageous battle with leukemia. Grant will be forever cherished by his wife Adrienne; daughters, Kelly (Michael), Linda (Andrew), Jenny; grandchildren, Alex, Kate and Olivia; brother Brian (Lorraine); sister Eleanor (Glenn); their families as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws who were loved dearly by Grant. Grant was predeceased by his mother Jean in 1965, his father Walter in 2002 and Walter's second wife Ruby in 1993. Grant along with his twin brother Brian were born on June 5, 1948 in Holland, Manitoba. He was schooled in Holland and Treherne and received an Agricultural Degree from the University of Manitoba in 1971. After a short term with the Manitoba government, Grant began a 35 year career with Farm Credit Canada - the first six years in Carman and the remainder in Neepawa. Grant's dedication and the immense satisfaction he received from his career was equaled only by the love and respect he had for his co-workers at FCC. Grant's energy and enthusiasm knew no bounds when it came to his love of the outdoors - whether it was farming, gardening, hunting, fishing or just tramping through the bush, he truly loved it all. He especially enjoyed the annual deer hunts with his family and friends. Grant was proud of his daughter's accomplishments and showed by example the importance of hard work and a job well done. But there was no greater joy for Grant than the precious two years he had with his grandchildren. He fought courageously to be with them. Grant's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of D6 in the Health Sciences Centre, CancerCare Manitoba and the Neepawa District Health Centre for their compassionate care throughout his illness. The family gratefully declines flowers, but if desired a donation may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, (100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, MB). Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the Neepawa United Church, Neepawa, MB officiating clergy will be Rev. Joe Ball. White's Funeral Home Neepawa-Carberry in care of arrangements. (204) 476-2848.
