HELEN ROSIE FRIESEN (nee HERMAN) Peacefully, after a courageous struggle with a series of tragic medical issues, we sadly announce the death of Helen Friesen. Born May 12, 1940, she passed away on Friday, October 6, 2006 in Winnipeg at the age of 66. Beloved wife of Irv Friesen, husband of 35 years, Helen leaves behind her home in Transcona and her cat Bootsy . Helen was a caring person who worked for years as an accountant for B.A.C.M.Construction, as well as being their Office Administrator in Lynn Lake, Manitoba for a year. She spent eight years devoted to, and taking the lead role in caring for her mother Eva Herman, who passed away in 1989 after a lengthy recovery following a stroke. Helen was also predeceased by father George Herman, older brother Victor, and young twin brothers, Peter and Paul. Helen leaves behind husband Irv; sisters Anne Ratuski and Jean Burns; brothers Gordon and Lawrence of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and their children. Helen loved her cats, and a pet was always in her home: Patches, Radar, Sidney and Bootsy. Her back yard garden was dear to her. She had a passion for travel, taking several trips to Mexico and Hawaii, as well as Barbados, Jamaica and Las Vegas. She was looking forward to growing old with Irv. She dreamed of being a writer. Prayers will be held Monday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 10 at 10:00 a.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel.
