MARTHA WATSON January 30, 1910 - October 6, 2006 It is with great sorrow that Martha Watson's family announces her passing on October 6, 2006 at the age of 96. Martha was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Margaret Watson; and her two brothers, Robert and David Watson. She is survived by her two sisters, Margaret Talbot and Edith Franklin; as well as special nephews and nieces, Tom Talbot of Winnipeg, Beth (Bob) Burt of Minneapolis, USA, Gordon (Beth) Franklin of Winnipeg, Robert (Sandra) Franklin of Nanaimo, BC, and Ellen Jane (Lawrie) Weir of Melbourne, Australia; as well as many other nephews, nieces, great and great- great-nephews and nieces. Martha lived most of her life in Winnipeg. She worked at Eaton's for many years and then at Wiggins Systems in the 1940s and 1950s before her final employment at Misericordia Hospital where she retired from her accounting and financial career in 1975. Martha had been a resident of Lions Place on Portage Avenue since it opened in 1983. She was also a member of Young United Church since 1950. Martha will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, at 11:00 a.m., with a private family interment at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
