ROLAND LAFOND It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father and grandfather, Roland Lafond on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Centre Taché. He was born on February 8, 1932 in La Salle, MB. Roland leaves to mourn two sons and a daughter, Marc (Sandie), Jo-Anne (Michel) Gendreau and Robert, along with his eight grandchildren; Marc, Guy, André, Alain and Michel Gendreau; Lindsay, Chantal and Caroline. He also leaves behind his very good and close friend Barbara Payne. Roland is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Géralda (Frank) Pichette, Jules (Paulette), Marcelle (Noël) Trudeau and Claude (Dora). Roland was predeceased by his wife Doris in 1971. Rolly had a great sense of humour and loved to be with family. His great pride and joy was experiencing his grandchildren grow up. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11 at 2:30 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road with viewing held one half hour prior to the service time. Interment will be at a later date in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roland's memory to the Alzheimer's Society, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
