LAWRENCE (LORNE) ELMER KNOPF Peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2006, Lorne passed away at the Beausejour District Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lorne was born in Whitemouth, MB on March 4, 1920 and resided in the area all his life. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Doreen; two sons Tom (Marlene) and David; step-grandchildren, Kim (Derek) and family; stepchildren Karen Sobetski and family, Ernie (Elaine) Wiebe and family; one sister Ruth Bonney; sisters-in-law Rhona and Marge Knopf; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Marge Klaprat; one daughter in infancy; parents Julius and Edith Knopf; brothers George, Arthur, Norman and one sister Emma Dollman. Lorne's energy and enthusiasm knew no bounds when it came to his love of the outdoors - whether it was farming, hunting, fishing or just tramping through the bush, he truly loved it all. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Whiteshell Baptist Church, Seven Sisters Falls, MB, with viewing one hour prior to service. There will be a viewing (only) held on Tuesday, October 10 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. East. Beausejour. Interment will follow the funeral service at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in River Hills, MB.
