Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATSUHARA YOSHIKO Yoshiko passed away peacefully on October 9, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband Takeo, on August 9, 1994. Yoshiko was also predeceased by her parents, Yoshitaro and Wai Ono and by brothers, Yoshikazu, Masahide, Naoichi and Akira of Toronto. Yoshiko Ono was born on May 12, 1918 in Vancouver (Marpole), BC and married Takeo Matsuhara on May 10, 1941. They were evacuated to Manitoba in 1942 during the Second World War and were finally able to return to the West Coast in 1952 where Yoshiko resided with her husband until his passing. Yoshiko moved back to Winnipeg in 1998 so that she could be closer to family. Yoshiko is survived by her brothers' widows and various nieces and nephews on the Ono side in Toronto and by her late husband's siblings, Shizuko Ota, Japan, Kazuko Kudo, Ontario, Nobuo (Yoneko) and Tadao (Yoshiko) Matsubara and Haruko (Tsutomu) Miyata all of Winnipeg as well as nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. We wish to thank the staff of Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home for their kindness and care they showed her over the past two years. Yoshiko had requested a private family service be held with Rev. S. Saeki of the Japanese Alliance Church officiating at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home, 575 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 5B2.
