DORIS FINK After a lengthy illness, Doris passed away suddenly on October 5, 2006 in her daughter's home while on vacation in Victoria, B.C. She was born in Graz, Austria and made Calgary her home in 1952. Her future husband Leo followed her there, and they were married in 1953. They moved to Winnipeg in 1963, where Doris took great pride in being a mother to her three daughters. Doris was the center, the generous heart that held us all together. She was renowned for her incredible apple pies and her delicious meals. She was an unbelievable optimist, and no matter what hardships she had to face she overcame them with tremendous willpower and strength with the help of her loving and devoted husband of 52 years. Her laughs were infectious, and unforgettable. Doris was predeceased by her parents Fred and Martha. She will be sorrowfully missed by her husband Leo and their three daughters, Rosemary, Dagmar Carrick, her husband David, grandchildren Kristi, Curtis and Kaeleigh and their dog Kokanee, and Monica Grover, her husband Brent, grandchild Leanne and their dogs Zoe and Zena. She will forever be sunshine on our rainy days, warmth and love in our darkest hours, and an inspiration for all. Never forgotten and loved forever. We are extremely grateful to and sincerely thank the Doctors and staff at the Health Sciences Centre Transplant Clinic, and an anonymous donor, for giving her an additional 22 years of quality life. We would also like to thank the Doctors and staff at the Health Sciences Centre and the Sherbrook Dialysis Unit for all of their kind attention and care for the past 8 years. Doris/Mom/Gramma - you will be in our hearts and thoughts forever. Viele Bussi. A Prayer service will be held on Thursday October 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday October 14, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road, with a viewing at 10:30 and a reception to follow the service in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch (730 Taylor Avenue, Winnipeg R3M 2K8) would be greatly appreciated.
