Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE HILDA FRITZ (nee GRUBERT) Born January 12, 1932 in Schuklelen, Lithuania, passed away on October 9, 2006 at the Victoria Hospice. Predeceased by her husband, Robert Fritz in 2002 she is lovingly remembered by her children, Ron (Heather) of Victoria, George (Theresa) of Nanaimo, and Linda (Andy) Jankowski of Victoria; Oma to Marcus, Tyson, Amanda, Travis, Kurt, Stefan, Kiara; and Uhr Oma to Ryan. Irene is also survived by siblings, Alvin, Meta, Erika, Garry and Lilli of Winnipeg and many nieces, nephews and their families; her brother-in-law, Aldoph Fritz and her sister-in-law, Elsi (Max) Fechter and family. Irene immigrated to Canada with her family in November 1950 and settled in Winnipeg. She met her husband, Robert at the German Club. She was a selfless and dedicated Mother and Grandmother always there when we needed her. She enjoyed many hours at the rink, ballpark, and theatre proudly watching her children and grandchildren's activities. Irene loved her yearly summer visits to Manitoba Lake to be with her family and friends. She was a member of the Lutheran Good Shepherd Church where she had many good friends. We would like to thank the staff of the Vancouver General Leukemia Ward for all their efforts, The Victoria Hospice staff and wonderful volunteers for all of their support and to all Oma's family and friends for all your prayers. A visitation for family and friends will be held at McCALL BROS. CHAPELS, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Thursday, October 12, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2815 Cedar Hill Rd., on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Following the interment at Royal Oak Burial Park refreshments will be held at the church.
