STANLEY FREDRIC CURTIS DANIEL It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Stan Daniel on Monday, October 9, 2006. He passed away at the age of 75 with his loving family at his side. Stan was born on January 3, 1931 in Vancouver, BC and moved to Winnipeg as a youngster spending most of his years in Brooklands. Beloved husband of Nora for 53 years, he also leaves to cherish his memory his children, Paul (Pat), Laurie (Ken), Shannon (Perry), Kelly (Dan). Grandpa will also be dearly missed by his eight grandchildren who were the apple of his eye, Steven, Paige, Erin, Lauren, Kaylene, Nathan, Kyle and Travis. Stan is also survived by his brother Raymond (Pat) as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Son of the late John and Ruth Daniel, Stan was predeceased by his sister Mary Hjartason and brothers Donald and Leonard. Dad was a dedicated employee with the City of Winnipeg, working there for 25 years. He had an incredible knowledge and passion for building and repairing which he spent many hours doing following his retirement in 1985. Dad will be especially remembered by his family for his quiet strength and the fond memories and stories he shared with all of us. Our family is very grateful for the wonderful care provided by the Palliative Care team at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Special thanks to the numerous physicians who provided care to Dad; especially Dr. J. Elkin, Dr. B. Schacter and Dr. E. Saettler. A private family interment will be taking place. We invite family and friends to join us on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Brooklands Senior Citizen's Centre, 1960 William Avenue (corner of William Avenue at Oddy Street). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, Room 1160, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E OV9.
