SOPHIE V. (DAWSHKA) YAGER Sophie passed away peacefully at Meadowood Manor on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at age 79. Sophie was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Nickolas Dawshka; brothers, Carl and Connie; sister Marie Sigurdson. She is survived by her husband Robert Yager; children, Barbara (Darrell Cheung) and Roger (Corinne); grandchild Isabella Yager. Sophie treasured her time as a school teacher, as a social worker and especially as a wife and mother to her family. You are loved by all and will always be in our thoughts A special thank you to the staff at Meadowood Manor and the Fort Garry Care Centre. A brief service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, Lasting Tribute Chapel, 4000 Portage Ave., on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Following the service the family invites family and friends to join them for a gathering at The Gates, 6945 Roblin Blvd. In lieu of flowers, should anyone wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Sophie's memory (204-774-7483 or toll-free 1-888-532-6982; 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7).
